Gilbert Area Historical Collections

The Gilbert Area Historical Collection is a major undertaking supported by the James H. Harless Foundation to archive and present in a digital format visual and oral histories pertaining to the Gilbert area. It will be housed at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center in Gilbert. If you have photographs that should be included in the collection, please contact us. (We will return your photographs to you after they are scanned.)
The first stage, a touch-screen display of photographs, motion pictures and oral histories is scheduled for installation in early 2013. Other displays will follow as they are collected and prepared.

The oral history project is slated to cover recollections of Gilbert area residents who grew up in different eras.
